DICOM

DICOM (Digital Imaging and COmmunication in Medicine) is the international standard for medical images.
It mainly defines formats of scanned medical images with CR, CT, MRI, etc. and communication protocols between medical imaging equipment that handle these images.
The purpose of the DICOM standard is connecting medical imaging equipment and systems beyond vendors and unit types, and exchanging image data with each other.
Now that DICOM is an international standard of medical images, lots of vendors support and follow the DICOM standard.
Since our product SonicDICOM PACS is compliant with this DICOM standard, it can connect to DICOM-compliant modality and DICOM Viewer and others that various vendors provide.
